Abstrak :

Background of the research was that student learning outcomes were still low and not active or communicative with their friends. This research aimed to  determine whether students 'mathematics learning outcomes by implementing   cooperative learning model of Think Pair Share Type is better than students' mathematics learning outcomes by using conventional learning at class VIII SMPN 13 Padang. It was an experimental class using random research design on subjects. The population was eighth grade students SMPN 13 Padang consisting of eight classes. Sampling technique was conducted randomly and it was selected class VIII1 as the experimental class and class VIII2 as the control class. The research instrument was a test in a form of description using test reliability . Data analysis technique used one tail test. The research shows that ttable = 1,67 and tcount = 1,78. Hypothesis is accepted because tcount > ttable. Then, the proposed hypothesis is accepted in the significance level It is concluded that student learning outcomes by implementing cooperative learning model of Think Pair Share type is better than student learning outcomes with conventional learning at  class VIII SMPN 13 Padang.
