Abstrak :

            This research is motivated as follows. Firs, student do not like the ability to rewrite anecdotal texts. Second, students fell boret so the teacher only explains the material and is too firs because student do not pay attention to the teacher explaining and students are more fussing. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using the snowball throwing learning model on the ability to rewrite anecdotal texts in class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Lembah Gumanti. This type of research is quantitative research using experimental methods. The design of this study is the Posttest Only Control Group. Sampling tecnigue delberately chosen based on certain characters. The sample in this study were two classes, namely the control class and the experimental class. The data in this study were the test scores of the ability to rewrite anecdotal texts without and by using the snowball throwing learning model for class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Lembah Gumanti. The result of this study are described as follows. First, the ability to rewrite anecdotal texts without using a snowball throwing learning model obtained an average grade of 64.55 with sufficient qualifications (C). Second, the ability to write anecdotal texts by using snowball throwing learning models for class obtained an average grade of 79.84 with good qualifications (B). Third, there is a significant influence of the snowball throwing lerning model on the ability to rewrite anecdotal text in class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Lembah Gumanti because tcount>ttable (8,11>1,67).
