Abstrak :


This research is motivated by the students' low learning outcomes and the participation of students in the teaching and learning process is still lacking. One way to overcome these problems is to use an Active Strategy Index Card Match Type. The purpose of this study was to determine whether students' mathematics learning outcomes after following the mathematics learning process using Active Strategy Index Card Match type is better than conventional learning in class VII students of SMPN 9 Padang. This type of research is experimental, the research used is random against subjects. The population in this study were all students of class VII even semester even of SMP 9 Padang Academic Year 2017/2018. Random sampling  Class  as experimental class and  as control class The instrument used is a test of learning outcomes. The form of the test used is essay. Final test data analysis techniques using one-party t test. The results of data analysis techniques used are one-party t test with , the results of data analysis obtained  and  because , so the research hypothesis is accepted. So, it can be concluded that students' mathematics learning outcomes using Active Strategy Index Card Match type is better than student learning outcomes with conventional learning in class VII of SMP 9 Padang.
