Abstrak :

         Based on the results of the study it was found that: first, special character education programs in schools did not exist but were integrated in each subject, through habituation and extracurricular activities. Second, in the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP), the teacher adds points about the expected character of the students before and after the learning process takes place, for example in group discussion methods can be used to develop student character, these character values ​​include religious, honest, tolerance, discipline, hard work , creative, independent, democratic, curiosity, national spirit, love for the country, respect for achievement, communicative, fond of reading, caring for the environment, caring for the social, peace-loving and responsible. Third, many students did not know about the Minangkabau Natural Culture (BAM). The problem faced by teachers is that some students are less obedient to the teacher as students talk during lessons, students are still in the age of unstable so easily carried away. To overcome this problem, the teacher admonishes and approaches the students. Based on the explanation above, it can be concluded that there has not been a realization of the value of the character of the Minangkabau culture in the people of Agam Regency in SDN 09 Sungai Cubadak and SMP 1 Baso, Baso District, Agam Regency
