This researchis motivated by the problem obtained from the result of observations and interviews at SMAN 1 Talamau, namely students are less participating during the discussion process, in solving problems they are not using their time properly and wisely. Some students use it to have a chit-chat with their friend, get out from the class and imterfere with other friend in discussions. To overcome these problem, Problem Based Instruction learning model is applied. The purpose of this study was to determine student learning outcomes in the affective, cognitive, psychomotor by applying the Problem Based Instruction learning model at SMAN 1 Talamau. The data analysis technique in the three domains uses the t tests. Based on the results of the study, the average value on the experimental class in the avektive domain is 59,01, while the control class is 74,12. The results of the analysis were obtained by the t-tests obtained at the real level of 0,05. 1,67 while= -5,43 means that the affective domain hypothesis is rejected. In the cognitive domain the final test result of the students with the average experimental class were 53,87, while the control class was 60,07. The results of the t-tests obtained a hypothesis at the level of 0,05 Ftable 1,67 and Fcount -1,78 means that the cognitive domain hypothesis is rejected. In the psychomotor domain, the average value of the experimental class is 50,54 and the control class is 59,21. The results of the t-test obtained psychomotor domain hypothesis is rejected. From the results of the study it can be concluded that the application of learning models Problem Based Instruction can not improve learning outcomes biology in Affective, Psychomotor, and Cognitive in class XI students of SMAN 1 Talamau.
