Abstrak :

Learning styles should be niticed by educators as well as educators. When a person understands his learning styles, it can be good for his learning. Based on an interview with a student of 2015/2016 the activities students conducted in the discussion had an impact on material understanding, one of them came up with the idea during the discussion. The percentage of student engagement gives the idea when discussing small groups is only 33%, the luck of involvement of students gives ideas while discussing is due to different student’s learning habits. The practice of studying students is only when given an assignment and one day studying to the UAS. Based on background research, aim was made to identify learning styles relationships with students of the university’s admitted biology study program STKIP PGRI Sumatera west. The population and research samples are university student of 2017 with a population of 64 students using total sampling techniques and research instruments of 40 figure statement. Data analysis techniques are done by calculating the percentage of angular indicators and analysis of the product moment correlation by comparing the value of the thitung > ttabel level of 0,05. Studies show the value of thitung < ttabel and Ha is rejected, meaning not to have significant connections. Based on the findings it concluded that there is no significant link between the learning styles to the students study program of biology studies STKIP PGRI west Sumatra.
