Abstrak :

Background of the research were that the students were lack of being active and

participation and only few students gave question and student learning outcomes

are still low. It can be seen on their minimum completeness criteria percentage.

The purpose of the research was to find out whether student’s mathematical

learning outcome by applying cooperative learning strategy of think pair square

is better than Think Pair Share at XI tourism class SMKN 6 Padang Academic

Year 2016/2017. It was an experimental research. The population was all

students at XI class SMKN 6 Padang Academic Year 2016/2017 consisting five

classes. Sampling technique was random sampling where XI food service 1 as the

experiment class and XI travel agency as the experiment II. The instrument used

was essay final test with its reliability 0.86 where it was considered reliable.

Based on the analysis, it is found that the average score of student’s learning

outcome of first experiment class is 79,74 higher than second experiment class

i.e. 67,19. Statistics test result shows that tcount = 1,78 and ttable= 1,73 at

=0.05. It can be concluded that > .tudent’s mathematical

learning outcome by applying cooperative learning strategy of think pair square

is better than think pair share at XI tourism class SMKN 6 Padang Academic

Year 2016/2017.
