This research was inspired by the not fully implemented stages of scientific approach in learning activities at SMAN 1 Luhak Nan Duo. In addition only a few members of the group who participated in the discussion, the student were likely inactive while studying, it also affected in low outcomes of biology subjects. This study was conducted to determine the effect of Problem Based Learning models application towards the biology subject outcomes in class X of SMAN 1 Luhak Nan Duo. The type of this research was experiment study with randomized control group posts-test only design. All students of class X MIPA were the population in this study. Purposive sampling technique was a technique used in the sampling, X MIPA 4 as an experimental class and class of X MIPA 5 as the control class. Affective assessment instruments were done through self-assessment and peer assessment, cognitive assessment in the form of multiple-choice questions through written tests and psychomotor assessment in the form of a report on the discussions and posters. Data were analyzed using t’-test. From the research that had been conducted, to the affective domain t’-test analysis showed that tobtained(2.20)>ttable(1.67). For cognitive domain t’-test analysis showed that tobtained(6.76)>ttable(1.67). On the psychomotor domain t’-test analysis showed tobtained(4.87)>ttable(1.67). From the analysis, it could be concluded the application of the PBL teaching model with videos affected the results of studying biology at the affective, cognitive and psychomotor domains of Class X at SMAN 1 Luhak Nan Duo West Pasaman.
