Abstrak :

The problem in this study is the understanding of students mathematical concepts are still low. The study aims to determine whether there is an increase in understanding of mathematical concepts of class XI MIPA 3 students of SMAN 1 Batang Anai by applying the cooperative learning type Numbered Head Together. This type of research is research pre-experimental, with the research design Pre-Test and Post-Test Group. The study population was all students of class XI MIPA SMAN 1 Batang Anai. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. The class chosen as the sample class is XI MIPA3. The instrument used is a matter of Pre-test and Post-test in the form of Essays. The data analysis technique used is the test t. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, the value of tarithmetic = 26 and ttable= 1.70, because tcount>ttablebecause the pre-test value of students get a low value while the post-test value students get high scores, it is concluded that there is an increase in understanding Mathematical concepts of class XI students of  SMAN 1 Batang Anai with the type cooperative learning model Numbered Head Together and the application of strategies NHT.
