Abstrak :

    This research is motivated because teaching and learning process has not been maximized and the activeness of students in the classroom is still lacking.One solution that can be  provided in overcoming these problems is probing prompting learning with two stay two stray. Probing prompting learning is an approach  by giving questions that  can improve the process of thinking of students. The research instrument used in the final cognitive test assessment was in the form of essays and in the affective assessment to student activitysheets. Based on data analysis of learning outcomes in cognitive assessment in the experimental class obtained an average value of 62.32 while the control class obtained an average value of 40.54. In affective assessment of students that is equal to 64.87 while the control class is 50.96. Furthermore, the results of testing the hypothesis using the Mann-Whitney test obtained zcalculation 2.73 and ztable 1.64, then H0 is rejected and Hi is accepted. So it can be concluded that the physics learning outcomes of students with the probing prompting learning approach accompanied by TS-TS are better than the scientific approach of the XI MIPA class of SMAN 1 Kuantan Hilir.
