Abstrak :

            Research on the background there are still many students who are less active in learning. Students of Class XI IPS were classified as having a low level of asking. If the teacher gives students the opportunity to ask questions, only a few want to ask. This study aims to determine the effect of learning styles on student learning activeness in geography subjects in class XI IPS in SMA PGRI 1 Padang. This type of research is descriptive correlational. The study population was all students of class XI IPS, totaling 65 students.The research sample was taken by proportional random sampling technique using the Taro Yamone formula so that the sample was 54 students. Data analysis uses descriptive analysis, regression estimates, correlation coefficients and hypothesis testing. The results of the study found that: 1) There is a significant effect of visual learning style on the learning activeness of students of class XI IPS with tcount> ttable (3,782> 1,6730), small contribution and the effect including moderate category,2) There is a significant effect of auditory learning style on the learning activeness of students of class XI IPS with tcount> ttable (2.101> 1.6730), the contribution is very small and the effect categorized as low3) There is a significant effect of kinesthetic learning style on the learning activeness of students of class XI IPS with tcount> ttable (3,537> 1.6730), very little contribution and the effect included low category and 4) There is a significant influence of visual learning style, auditory learning style and kinesthetic learning style together on the learning activities of students of class XI IPS in SMA PGRI 1 Padang with Fcount> Ftable (7.978> 2.76)
