This research is motivated by several problems, among others, the learning process takes place students are less active, learning is still teacher-centered so that students only hear and record what is explained by the teacher, this is seen when there are no students who want to ask about the subject matter delivered by teacher. Besides the lack of use of media and learning strategies, the media that is often used is blackboard media, in the learning process only a few students have a handbook so that the impact of these problems is low student learning outcomes. To overcome these problems, it is necessary to apply various learning models and strategies, one of which is the start with a question (LSQ) active learning learning strategy with a Handout. The purpose of this research is to find out how the implementation of learning type active learning strategies starts with a question (LSQ) accompanied by handouts on the results of learning biology class XI students of SMAN 2 Lengayang. This type of research is an experimental study with a population of all students of class XI IPA of SMA 2 lengayang consisting of 4 classes. The sampling technique using purposive sampling obtained the experimental class XI IPA.1, control class XI IPA. Data in this study were analyzed using t-test. Based on the research, it is obtained the results of the assessment on the affective domain of the experimental class 78.97 (B), the control class 70.92 (C). From the hypothesis test, it was found that tcount = 1.75 while ttable = 1.67, meaning thitung> t table, thus the hypothesis was accepted (H_1). Analysis of cognitive domain assessment data for experimental class was higher than that of the control class, namely 75.73 and 68.98. From the hypothesis test, it was found that tcount = 1.82, while t table = 1.67, meaning thitung> t table, thus the hypothesis was accepted (H_1). From the results of the research, it can be concluded that the implementation of active learning strategies type Learning Starts With A Questions (LSQ) Accompanied by Handout can improve the results of biology learning in class XI of SMAN 2 Lengayang
