This research is motivated by four problems (1), students have not been able to pouring his idea in writing form because lack of student reading interest.(2), namely the lack of imagination of students in short story writing skills because because during the learning short story students like to mumble in class. (3), the lack of vocabulary students have so that it is difficult to put their ideas or ideas into a sentence in the form of a short story. This type of research is a quantitative study using the experimental method. The population of this study is the tenth grade students of SMAN 2 Batang Kapas in the 2018/2019 school year. The number of students who became the population in this study were 155 students, spread in 6 classes. The sample in this study is class X3 and class X4.Based on the results of a comparative study using the Brain Writing learning model with the Concept Sentence, the tenth grade students of SMAN 2 Batang Kapas can be summarized below. First, short story writing skills of class X students of SMAN 2 Batang Kapas using the Brain Writing learning model are in a Good qualification (B) with an average value of 78.22. Second, short story writing skills of class X students of SMAN 2 Batang Kapas using the Learning Sentence learning model are in a Good qualification (B) with an average value of 80.88. Third, a comparison of the use of the Brain Writing learning model of the Sentence Concept learning model of class X SMAN 2 Batang Kapas. So, it was concluded that there was a comparison of the use of the Barin Writing model with the Concept Sentence model in the short story writing skills of class X SMA N 2 Batang Kapas because t_count> t_tabel. by using the Barin Writing model with a better Consept Sentence model.
