Abstrak :

This research is motivated by students experiencing difficulties in pouring ideas into writing. This study aims to describe the ability to write drama scripts without modeling techniques and students' script writing skills with modeling techniques in class VIIII students of SMP N 7 Padang. This type of research is quantitative using the experimental method. The design of this study is The Randomized Posttest Only Control Group. The sample in this study were grade VIII students totaling 34 people. This research can be summarized as follows. First, the ability to write from the eighth grade students of SMP N 7 Padang without modeling techniques obtained an average score of 52.74 with the qualification of Nearly Enough (C). Secondly, the ability to write drama scripts before using the eighth grade students' modeling techniques at Padang N 7th grade got an average score of 63.14 with sufficient qualifications (C). Third, based on the results of hypothesis testing conducted where t count> t table (2.00> 1.71), then the use of modeling techniques is very effective to be used in improving the script writing skills of grade VIII students of SMP N 7 Padang.
