Abstrak :

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of Physics students of Class XI MIPA at SMAN 5 Pariaman because students consider physics lessons to be less enjoyable, students also assume that physics lessons are quite difficult due to quite a lot of physics formulas so, student learning outcomes are low, Therefore a think pair share learning model is applied which asks students to pair up with their peers to work on the questions given by the educator. This study aims to determine the effect of Think Pair Share learning model accompanied by a Handout on Physics Learning Outcomes of Class XI MIPA SMAN 5 Pariaman. Learning outcomes in the cognitive domain were obtained, the average value of the experimental class students was 65.41 and the control class was 56.54. Furthermore, with test analysis, tcount = 1.93 is greater than ttable = 1.68 at the 0.05 level, thus the first alternative hypothesis is accepted. In the affective domain the average activity of the experimental class students was higher than the control class, namely in the 89 experimental class and 81 control class. So the physics learning outcomes of students using the Think, Pair, Share (TPS) model were better than the learning outcomes physics uses a scientific learning approach in class X MIPA SMAN 5 Pariaman.
