This study aims to reveal the role of the BK teacher for changes in student behavior(descriptive study of students who were given punishment in class XI of 12 Public High Schools in Padang). With a focus of research, namely: 1) The role of BK teachers in changing the behavior of students who have been given punishment seen in the preventive aspects, 2) The role of BK teachers in changing the behavior of students who have been given punishment is seen in the preservative aspect and, 3) The role of BK teachers in changing the behavior of students who have been given punishment is seen in the corrective aspect. This study used descriptive qualitative method Key research informants were 2 teachers of guidance and counseling, while additional informants numbered 4 people consisting of 2 homeroom teachers and 2 students. The instruments used were interviews and documentation, techniques used in data processing through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the explanation above, obtained by the results of the study are: 1) The role of BK teachers in terms of perventive aspects includes providing individual counseling, collaboration with student guardians in monitoring student behavior 2) The role of the BK teacher based on the conservative aspect is controlling, monitoring and forming study groups. 3) The role of BK teachers in implementing corrective actions includes: providing counseling, warnings, and follow-up actions. Based on the results of the study it is recommended to the guidance and counseling teacher and related parties to be able to overcome the obstacles encountered so that changes in student behavior can run optimally.
