Research has been done on the number and distribution of stomata on the leaves of several species of monocot plants to see the number and distribution of stomata, so that they can determine the number and distribution of the stomata. This research was conducted in May 2018 in Lubuk Minturun, Balai Gadang Subdistrict, Koto Tangah District. The type used for this research is descriptive survey, namely direct observation at the research location. Sampling is done by taking leaf samples starting from the base of the leaf midrib taken at the base of the leaf midrib which is dark green. Samples are taken using plant scissors, then enter the sample into the plastic that has been filled with water and then tied. Then the sample was carried out at the Biology Education Laboratory of STKIP PGRI West Sumatra. Several stages of research are preparation, preparation, making semi-permanent preparations, observation. Based on the research that has been done on stomata, the results of stomata on monocot leaves taken in Lubuk Minturun, Balai Gadang Subdistrict, Koto Tangah Subdistrict were found on two leaf surfaces, namely the upper surface and lower surface of the leaf. Of the eight samples, stomata were found on the adaxial 87 Aloe vera plant, abaxial 101, Ananas comusus adaksia l0, abaxial 58, Caladium bicolor adactional 0, abaxial 60, Cyperus rotundus adaxial 0, abaxial 101, Musa paradisiacal adaksial 56, abaxial 103, Oryza sativa adaksial 0, abaxial 68, Pandanus amaryllifolius adaxial 40, abaxial 109, and Phalaenopsis amabilis adactional 0, abaxial 90. Stomata distribution in monocot leaves with parallel and scattered types. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the number of stomata of 8 plant species varies in number with parallel and scattered stomata distribution.
