During the learning process there are many students who do not respond
to questions given by the teacher and do not participate in group discussions and
more passive students result in low student learning outcomes. Therefore, in the
learning process, problem solving is given to increase activity and learning
outcomes. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in the
application of Problem Solving accompanied by media images of the learning
outcomes of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 9 Padang in the cognitive,
affective, and psychomotor domains. This type of research is an experimental
research with Randomized Control Group Postest Only Design. The population in
this study were all eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 9 Padang. The sampling
technique is purposive sampling technique cognitive domain data analysis using ttest
with a 95% confidence level (α = 0.05). Based on the results of the study
obtained the results of student biology learning tests in the cognitive domain of
the experimental class the average value of 51 and the control class is the average
value of 53 and the value of the results of the hypothesis test analysis obtained t
count (-0.61) Uttabel (0.0154) which means (H1) is accepted.
From this study it can be concluded that the learning of Problem Solving
accompanied by Image Media there is no difference in the results of learning
biology class VIII SMPN 9 Padang Academic Year 2017/2018.
