Abstrak :

            This research is motivated by the lack of attention and motivation also lack of students’ attention to the teacher when learning process and students do not have a reference book other than textbooks and do not read books at home, thus impacting on the learning outcomes of VIII grade students seen from midterm grades. This study aims to determine the relationship of learning readiness with student learning outcomes in science at class VIII MTsN 10 Pesisir Selatan. This research is a descriptive (correlational) study. The sample in this study was class VIII MTsN 10 Pesisir Selatan totaling 53 students who were randomly drawn and enrolled in odd semester 2019/2020 school year. The technique of samples collecting is random sampling. The instrument used for this study was a questionnaire with 26 statements. Analysis of the data used by comparing tcount > ttable at a significant level of 0.05. The results obtained values on physical readiness 66.84% with sufficient criteria, on psychological preparedness 68.71% with sufficient criteria and on material readiness 66.04% with sufficient criteria, on product moment correlation 0.38 with weak criteria, coefficient of determination 14.44%. Furthermore, the correlation coefficient test with the t test formula obtained t value of 2.94 > 2.00 at the 95% confidence level 95% (α=0,05), this shows tcount > ttable means significant. From the results of the study it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between learning readiness and learning outcomes in Science at Class VIII MTsN 10 Pesisir Selatan.
