This research is motivated by the people of Sibanggor who do not yet know the types of plants that can be used as medicine because most still use local languages so that the general public does not know these plants, plant parts and the use of plants that can be used as medicine. This research is descriptive and development. The survey method was conducted to obtain data and information directly from the datu in Sibanggor Village and interviews in the field and identifying plants. Research and development uses a 4-D model consisting of four stages, namely define (determine the material), design (design), develop (development) and disseminate (dissemination). However, development research that will be used until the develop stage is the validity test. The instrument used was a validity test questionnaire conducted by 3 validators, namely 3 lecturers. The validity test data were analyzed using percentage techniques and processed descriptively. Descriptive research results obtained that the results obtained about medicinal plants used by Sibanggor village communities in North Sumatra were 115 species, with 52 families. The results of the validity test of popular scientific books by the validator are reviewed in terms of the appropriateness of content, linguistics, presentation, and graphic. A value of 92.03% was obtained with very valid criteria.
