Abstrak :


This study aims to describe the ability to writing the structure and language of exposition texts without and by using a Problem Solving learning methods of the ability to writing the class X students of SMA N 6 Solok selatan. This type of research is quantitative by using experimental methods. The design of this study is Postest Only Control Design. The sample in this study were 50 grade X students of SMA N 6 Solok selatan. The data in this study are scores on the ability to writing the structure and exposition of exposition texts without and by using the Problem Solvinglearning methods. This, the ability to writing the structure and linguistic text of the exposition without using the Problem Solvinglearning methods of class X students of SMA N 6 Solok selatan obtained an average value of 65,83 at a range of 56-65% with enough qualifications (C). Second, the ability to writing the structure and linguistic text of the exposition using the Problem Solvinglearning methods of class X students of SMA N 6 Solok selatan obtained an average grade of 82,17 at a range of 76-85% with good qualifications (B). Third, an alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted at a significant level of 95% and dk = n1 + n2-2 because tcount> t table(5,83 >1,68).
