Abstrak :

    This research motivated that small number students who want to ask questions, are reluctant to ask questions, are less accustomed to asking questions, afraid to ask questions, are less active and choose to remain silent when following the learning process in the classroom. The purpose of this study was to describe the relationship between skill of questioningand learning outcomes of students class XI IPS in SMA N 1 Gunung Tuleh, Pasaman Barat Regency. This type of research is descriptive correlational. The population was students of class XI IPS SMAN 1 Gunung Tuleh who did not reach the KKM in Mathematics as many 51 people. The research sample was taken with a total sampling technique, a sample of 51 people, collection data by questionnaire, data analysis using descriptive statistics with percentages and correlation tests. The results of the study revealed that: (1) Students questioning skills were in the good enough category, (2) Student learning outcomes were in the high enough category and (3) There was a significant and positive relationship between questioning skills and students' learning outcomes. Based on the results of the study it is expected that students can improve questioning skills to facilitate understanding of the subject matter.
