Abstrak :

        This research is background by the following problems students do not understand the language that is in folk poetry. This type of research is quantitative by using experimental methods. The design of this study is one group pretestposttest. The population of this research is all grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Ukui Pelalawan Regency. The sample in this study were students of class VII.2, amounting to 65 people. The data in this study were the score of the ability to write folk poetry before using the Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model and the score of the ability to write folk poetry using the Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model for Grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Ukui Pelalawan Regency. Based on the results of the study can be concluded as follows. First, the ability to write folk poetry for eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Ukui in Pelalawan Regency before using the Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model obtained an average rating of 58.87, being challenged by 56-65% with sufficient qualifications. Second, the ability to write folk poetry for eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Ukui in Pelalawan Regency using the Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model obtained an average score of 71.28 at a range of 66-75% with more than enough qualifications. Third, based on the t-test results obtained tcount (5.76)> ttable (1.66) t test criteria are accepted if th > tt in other words H1 is accepted and Ho is rejected.
