Abstrak :

            This research is motivated by the First, the low ability of students to writing the structure and language of exposition texts. Second, students still find it difficult to writing the structure and language of the exposition text. This study aims to describe the ability to writing the structure and language of exposition texts without and by using a Reciprocal Teaching model of the ability to writing the structure and language of exposition text class X students of SMK Negeri 1Padang. This type of research is quantitative by using experimental methods. The design of this study is Postest One Group Design. The sample in this study were 36 grade X students of SMK Negeri 1 Padang. The data in this study are scores on the ability to writing the structure and exposition of exposition text before and after using the Reciprocal Teaching model. This research can be concluded as follows. First, the ability to writing the structure and linguistic text of  the exposition text before using the Reciprocal Teaching model of class X students of SMK Negeri 1 Padang obtained an average value of 58,70 at a range of 56-65% with more than enough qualifications (C). Second, the ability to writing the structure and linguistic text of the exposition text after the Reciprocal Teaching model of class X students of SMK Negeri 1Padang obtained an average grade of 80,18 at a range of 66-75% with good qualifications (B). Third, from the results of data analysis that has been done an alternative hypothesis because tcount> t table (7,96 > 1,70).
