The background of this research is to exploit the potential of Apis cerana honey bees that live wildly and have been transferred quickly and bee colonies from the natural nest cavity to captive bee by using the hiving method. Searching for colonies is done in places that have the potential to be used to nest in Kanagarian Batu Gadang Pariaman. This study aims to determine the number of successful combinations.This research was conducted in August 2018 in Batu Gadang Nagari Sungai Geringging Subdistrict, Pariaman Regency, with the method of living by transferring all members of the bee colony from the natural nest to the stup.From the research that has been done, it was found that 13 bee colonies from each location were moved by the hiving method to the stup, 9 of the 13 colonies were successfully moved into the bee and 4 of the colonies escaped after being transferred to the stup. Of the 13 nests found, 11 nests were placed in the cavity of the dead Areca catecu (areca nut) tree, 1 nest was found hollow Phithocellobium (jengkol). And another nest was found in a resident's house that was not inhabited.
