Abstrak :

        The problem of this research is based on the fact that there are still many components of literacy activities that have not been able to run properly and are in accordance with what has been stated in the curriculum. The formulation of the problem taken is based on the limitation of the problems that have been stated above, the writer can formulate this research, namely: How is the Description of Literacy Activities in the History Course of Class XI IPS 2 in SMAN 2, Padang City. This type of research used in this research is a descriptive qualitative research method. The informants in this study were 1 teacher from SMAN 2 Padang, and 10 students of class X IPS 2 in SMAN 2 Padang.The results of this study are as follows, The description of literacy activities in class XI IPS2 history subjects at SMAN 2 Padang City has not gone well because there are still some of the literacy activities that are not done by the teacher, in the history learning process the teacher only runs basic literacy activities namely reading , reading activities carried out namely reading the Koran conducted at the beginning of the lesson. The constraints faced by the teacher in carrying out literacy activities are, time constraints, and lack of will of the students.
