This research is motivated by the lack of interest and motivation of student learning, and students have not been able to solve problems in the learning process which causes a lack of activeness of students in the learning process. This led to a lack of understanding of students in the class VII environmental pollution material in SMP N 1 Sutera, Pesisir Selatan Regency, which had not yet reached the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM). This study aims to determine the effect of Problem Based Learning learning models on learning outcomes of class VII Sutera Junior High School 1 in Pesisir Selatan Regency. This type of research is experimental, with a Randomized Control Group Postest Only Design research design. The population of this study was all seventh-grade students of State Junior High School 1 Sutera registered in the second semester of the 2017/2018 academic year. Sampling using purposive sampling. The instruments used in the affective domain are self-assessment and peer assessment, for the cognitive domain in the form of written tests, while the psychomotor domain of product evaluation is in the form of reports. It can be concluded that the problem-based learning model has an effect on student learning outcomes in the affective domain, and the psychomotor domain, while not influencing the cognitive domain of Grade VII students of Sutera 1 Junior High School.
