Abstrak :

             The background of this research is the difficulties experienced by the teacher using the scientific approach in SMPN / MTsN in 2x11 Kayutanam District. The difficulty of the teacher when implementing learning with a scientific approach is that students are still less active in observing and paying attention to the object to be studied, students are not participating in learning, reference books are still lacking due to limited facilities from school, and the lack of students' ability to reason and communicate the results in front of the class and the students' low reading interest. The research objective was to obtain information and an overview of the difficulties of science teachers in carrying out learning with a scientific approach. Descriptive research is a type of this research. The population in this study were all science teachers of SMPN / MTsN in 2x11 Kayutanam District with a total of 13 people. This study uses a total sampling technique as a data collection technique. The data used in this study are primary data obtained from filling out questionnaires by respondents. Questionnaires and interview sheets are data collection instruments in this study. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the difficulty of science teachers in carrying out learning with a scientific approach at SMPN / MTsN in 2x11 Kayutanam District at the observation stage obtained 67.56% results with the less difficult category. The questioning stage obtained 83.48% results with the category not difficult. At the information gathering stage, the results obtained were 83.29% with the category not difficult. The association stage obtained results of 60.71 with less difficult categories. In the communicating stage, 76.59% results were obtained with the less difficult category. From the research conducted, it was concluded that teachers were less difficult in implementing learning with the scientific approach in the 2013 curriculum at SMPN / MTsN in 2x11 Kayutanam District.
