This study aims to determine the metal content of lead and cadmium in langkitang (Faunus ater) snack sold in the coastal taurism area of padang. This research is a desckriptive study conducted in January-February 2019, to analyze the heavy metal content of lead and cadmium in langkitang known by looking at the absorbance using an atomic absorption spectrophotometer in wave 217. Entitled detection of heavy metals in langkitang snack food found in the coastal tourism area of Padang. The lead content in fresh langkitang meat passes the threshold and the ripe ones are still below the SNI thereshold. Meanwhile the content of cadmium in fresh and cooked langkitang is still below the SNI threshold. Meanwhile the content of cadmium in fresh and cooked rice plants is still below the SNI threshold. Based on the metal content of cadmium on langkitang, in the coastal tourist area of padang. The metal content of lead and cadmium in the lead content of fresh langkitang meat exceeds the threshold and the cooked meat is below the SNI threshold. Meanwhile the content of cadmium infresh and cooked rice plants is still below the SNI threshold. but based on the BPOM, the maximum limit of lead heavy metal contamination in molluska meat is 0,20 mg/kg and cadmium 0,10 mg/kg of lead and cadmium has exceeded the threshold. Based on the result of the analysis that has been carried out on the feasibility of the langkitang snack found in the coastal tourism area of Padang is suitable for consumption.
