Abstrak :

The background of this research who have less responsibility in doing the assignment which is given by teacher, and also their ability in comprehending the mathematic concepts are still low. The aim of this research was to know what implementation of mathematics comprehension structured numbered heads is better than convensional in student class VIII SMPN 2 Lembah Melintang. This research is experiment, the research design random of subject. The study population was a student of class VIII SMPN 2 Lembah Melintang in academic year  2017/2018 which consists of four. The sampling technique was randomly, selected VIII4 class as the experimental class and the class as a class VIII1   control. The instrumentation of this research was final test with essay form, while the reability is 0,975. The data analysis technique used one tail test. The result of hypothesis test is and  , with  because of  so that it was accepted. In conclusion, the implementation of cooperative learning structured numbered heads is better than convensional method in student class VIII SMPN 2 Lembah Melintang Kabupaten Pasaman Barat.
