Abstrak :

Background of the research were that student mathematical concept

understanding was low and the students have not been able to find a concept

independently. This study aims to determine the development of understanding of

mathematical concepts students for applying the method of invention Guided

accompanied quiz and find out if the understanding of mathematical concepts

students by applying the method of invention Guided accompanied quiz is better

than conventional learning at VII class Junior High School 1 in Bayang Utara.

This type of research is experimental with a research design i.e. random subject

The population was all students at VII class Junior High School 1 in Bayang

Utara. Sampling technique is random and total sampling were sample class is

VII.1 class is a experiment class and VII.2 class is a control class. The instrument

used was quizzes and final tests with a test reliabelitas r = 0,77. Data analysis

technique used is one-way t-test. Testing the hypothesis derived P-value= 0.031

is smaller than = 0.05 so that received H . The concluded is the development

of increased student understanding of mathematical concepts at each meeting and

understanding of mathematical concepts students use method Guided discovery

quiz accompanied better than conventional learning at VII class Junior High

School 1 in Bayang Utara
