Abstrak :

    This research is motivated by the following problems first, the students are still not skilled in writing procedure text, and difficulties in determining the structure of the procedure text. This research aims to describe the effect of using the Learning Cycle model on the ability to write procedure text in class XI MAN 1 Pesisir Selatan. This type of the research is a quantitative research used an expremental research. The design is of this research is Quasi Expremental. The sample in this research were all students of class XI MAN 1 Pesisir Selatan. control class totaling 21 people and the experimental class totaling 21 student. The data in this research were the score of the ability to write procedure text without using the Learning Cycle and the score of the ability to write a procedure text using learning cycle of class XI MAN 1 Pesisir Selatan. The results of this research can be concluded as follows. First, the ability to write procedural text of student class XI MAN 1 Pesisir Selatan without using the Learning Cycle Learning Model obtained an average value of 66,67, in the range 66-67% on a scale of 10, with more than adequate qualifications (LdC). Second, the ability to write procedural text for class XI students of MAN 1 Pesisir Selatan using the Learning Cycle Model obtained an average value of 81.34, with good qualifications (B). Third, there is a significant effect of using the Learning Cycle learning model on the ability to write procedural texts of class XI I MAN 1 Pesisir Selatan with test results that prove that tcount> of ttable is 5.49> 1.68. This shows that the Learning Cycle model can influence students in writing procedural texts.
