Abstrak :

 

This research is motivated by the low level of student motivation in learning sociology class XI IPS SMAN 1 IV Nagari Bayang Utara Pesisir Selatan Regency. The learning model used by the teacher in the teaching and learning process is less varied so that it can make students less motivated in following the learning process. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the application of Time Token learning models on students' learning motivation in Sociology Class XI IPS subjects at SMAN 1 IV Nagari Bayang Utara Pesisir Selatan District. The theory used in this study is constructivism according to Jean Piaget. This type of research is quantitative with the type of descriptive statistics. The population in this study were all students of class XI IPS totaling 44 people. Sampling using total sampling technique, the number of trial samples as many as 22 students in class XI IPS 1 and the study sample as many as 22 students in class XI IPS 2. The instrument used for the study was questionnaire using a Likert scale. Data analysis techniques in this study using statistical methods and analyzed using percentage analysis. The results of this study indicate that the highest score interval class is 7 respondents or 31.82%, the average score is 8 respondents or 36.36% and the lowest score is 7 respondents or 31.82%. Thus it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the application of Time Token learning models to students' learning motivation in Sociology subjects in the XI IPS class at SMAN 1 IV Nagari Bayang Utara Pesisir Selatan Regency. Criteria for learning motivation of students are in the medium criteria which is under 50% and the Time Token model can also foster student motivation in the teaching and learning process because the Time Token model can provide opportunities to speak or express opinions to each student to answer questions given by the teacher so the Time Token model can make students interested and brave to answer the question with enthusiasm.
