Abstrak :

        This study aims to describe the effect of the use of  MIND MAPPING learning models on the writing skills of report text observations of class X students of SMA Negeri 15 Padang. This type of research is quantitative by using experimental methods. The design of this study is posttest only control design. The population of this research is all grade X students of SMA Negeri 15 Padang. The sample in this study was class X students of SMA Negeri 15 Padang, totaling 62 people. The data is this study are the skills of wring the text of the observations report without and by using the MIND MAPPING learning models of class X students of SMA Negeri 15 Padang. This research concluded as follows. First, level of writing skills report text observations results of class X students MIND MAPPING learning models range of grades 66-75% obtained an average value of 74,65 with more than enough qualifications. (Ldc). Second, writing skills of the report text of observations of class X students of SMA Negeri 15 Padang by using a MIND MAPPING learning models average score of 78,79 with good qualifications (B). Third, based on the results of the t-test there is an influence of the use of the MIND MAPPING learning models towards the writing skills of the report writing text of the observations of class X students of SMA Negeri 15 Padang because tcount> t table(2,45 >1,67).
