Abstrak :

The purpose of this research is: first, to describe the students writing skill in description text without using the model of collaborative learning of students class VII at SMPN 2 Pasaman. Second,  to describe the students writing skill in description text with using the model of collaborative learning of students class VII at SMPN 2 Pasaman. Third, to describe of influence the using collaborative learning toward writing skill in description text of student class VII SMPN 2 Pasaman. The kind of this research was quantitative research by using experiment method. The design of this research was posttest-only control design. The population of this research were 173 students spread in seven class. The control class were 24 students, and the experiment class were 24 students. So, the samples in this research are 46 students. The data in this research was the score of writing skill in description text. The instrument in this research is the work demonstration test. The result of this research can be concluded as was follow. First, writing skill in description text of seven class the students at SMPN 2 Pasaman without using collaborative learning model was 75,69  that placed between 76-85% with cualification good. Second, writing skill in description text of seven class the students at SMPN 2 Pasaman with using collaborative learning model was 88,42 that placed between 86-95% with cualification very good. Third, based on Ttest that can be concluded there was a significant influence on the using of collaborative learning model toward writing skill of description text with t0=5,22 and ttabel=1,68 H1=accepted H0=rejected.
